Privacy Policy

Local TV Remote controls compatible televisions over your local Wi-Fi network. It does not require an account and does not send your personal data to the developer.

Information handled by the app

Local TV Remote stores the following information locally on your Android device:

• TV IP address and display name
• Selected TV platform
• Pairing certificates or authorization tokens needed to reconnect to a paired TV
• Basic TV setup and connection state

This information is used only to discover, pair with, and control televisions selected by you.

Data collection and sharing

Local TV Remote does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or cloud accounts. The app does not transmit user data to the developer, sell user data, or share user data with third parties.

Remote-control commands and pairing traffic are sent directly between your Android device and the selected television on the local network. A television manufacturer or an app running on the television may process that traffic according to its own software and privacy terms.

Data retention and deletion

Locally stored TV information remains on your Android device until you clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. Android backup is disabled for Local TV Remote so pairing credentials are not copied through Android backup.

Network security

Google TV pairing and remote-control connections use the security supported by the Google TV Remote protocol. Some compatible televisions require local unencrypted HTTP or WebSocket connections. These connections are limited by the app's purpose to televisions selected or discovered on your local network. Use the app only on networks you trust.

Permissions

The app uses network and Wi-Fi permissions to discover and communicate with compatible televisions on the same local network. These permissions are not used to determine or transmit your physical location.

Children's privacy

Local TV Remote is a general-purpose utility and is not directed to children. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app's functionality or privacy practices change. The latest version and its effective date will always be published on this page.
